Policies and Procedures

When booking with Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio, you hereby accept and agree to our policies and procedures.

Each policy and procedure is strictly NO exceptions.

These policies are open to change at any time without warning.

1) Studio Bookings
  1. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required before confirmation of any booking.

  2. Any person(s) responsible for booking MUST pay within 72 hours of receiving the invoice. Failure to do so will result in the time and date no longer being held for you.

  3. The full balance must be paid by the start of the session. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the session and the forfeiture of any funds already paid towards the session.

2) Re-Arranging
  1. If for any reason, Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is at fault for the re-arrangement of any session, we will re-arrange your session at no additional charge. This cannot be arranged over 2 sessions.

  2. We require a minimum of 72 hours for the re-arrangement of any session.

  3. Should you attempt to re-arrange any session with less than 72 hours’ notice, the original session will be regarded as cancelled. (Please see 3)

3) Cancellations
  1. Any cancellation results in the forfeiture of your deposit.

  2. You must notify us ASAP to cancel any studio session. Failure to do so may result in the refusal of future bookings.

4) Pre-Session
  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio will contact all artists 24-48 hours in advance of the session to confirm all arrangements via telephone. If we cannot reach you via telephone, we will attempt to contact you via e-mail.

  2. Should contact not be made prior to the session taking place, Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not responsible for any lack of readiness at the start of the session.

  3. The artist(s) are responsible for the acquisition of the instrumental unless stated otherwise.

5) Punctuality
  1. We will have all the necessary preparations ready prior to the session taking place.

  2. No additional time after the allotted booking time will be given should the session start late. Full payment for the session will still be required.

  3. We request artists arrive 5 minutes early, in order to start the session on time.

6) Guest(s) & Team Member(s)
  1. While not preferred, attendees are allowed up to 3 guests with them. A guest is anyone who is not performing during the session.

  2. Team members are permitted to enter. Team Members can include but isn't limited to artist management, music producers, A&R.

  3. Any guest or team member must be reported prior to the session taking place, otherwise, they will not be allowed in.

  4. By bringing a guest(s) or team member(s), the person(s) responsible for the booking accepts all liability for damage or loss by any guest.

  5. By bringing a guest(s) or team member(s), the person(s) responsible for the booking accepts all financial responsibility for damage or loss by any guest.

  6. All policies and procedures apply to ANY guest(s) or team member(s).

7) Artist Liability Agreement
  1. The artist accepts all responsibility and liability for any copyrighted material(s) and legalities associated with claims of infringement with the artists recorded material.

  2. The artist(s) accepts all responsibility and liability for any damage or loss by the artist, a member of their team or their guests.

8) Artist Responsibility
  1. The artist(s) is responsible for their own health and abilities both before and during the time of the session.

  2. The artist(s) is responsible for the quality and upkeep of their own equipment.

9) Studio Liability Agreement
  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not responsible or liable for any changes of circumstance reasonably out of our control.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not responsible for any damage or loss caused by the artist, a member of their team or their guests.

10) Studio Responsibility
  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is responsible for the upkeep and condition of all equipment owned by Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is responsible for the preparation of the studio spaces prior to the arrival of the artist(s).

  3. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio will deliver the services within the appropriate allotted time agreed upon prior to the delivery of the service.

  4. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of all surfaces and/or equipment.

11) Code of Conduct

  1. Prejudice of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, xenophobia and sexism.

  2. Everybody on the premises is to be treated like an equal individual.

  3. Treat all people and equipment with the utmost respect.

  4. The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited across premises.

  5. Alcohol must be consumed responsibly.

  6. No food or drink to be consumed in the vicinity of the equipment. Except for water in a sports cap bottle.

  7. Violence, threats or intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated.

  8. Unwelcome sexual attention or sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

  9. Failure to comply with any of the above could result in termination of the session, blacklisting from future sessions or in extreme circumstances, the appropriate authorities being contacted and potential legal action.

12) Termination of Session
  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio retains the right to terminate any session prior to the agreed-upon time.

  2. In the event of a terminated session, the artist(s) or the person(s) responsible will still be expected to pay the session in full.

13) Post-Session
  1. The artist(s), guest(s) and team member(s) agree to leave the premises in a timely and orderly fashion.

  2. The session will finish at the allotted time. No later, unless agreed to otherwise.

  3. Should the artist(s) want to continue the session past the allotted time, and time be available then the additional hours will be charged as a brand new session.

14) Mixes & Masters
  1. Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio promises to deliver any mix and/or master services in the allotted and agreed to by both Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio and the client.

  2. Any files received by Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio after 22:00 will be deemed as received the following day. E.g: if stems are received at 22:35 on a Wednesday, they will be considered to have been received on Thursday. Standard and express mix/master return dates will be worked off these dates.

  3. A minimum of 3 alterations are allowed free of charge. Any alterations thereafter will be costed.

  4. Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio will send any mix/master versions via a closed Google Drive folder in .WAV format that is unable to be downloaded by anyone other than Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio.

  5. Upon approval of a mix and/or master, final payments will be required before the receipt of the track(s).

  6. Before transfering and receipt of the final version, payments must be made. Until payments occur, Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio holds all rights and ownership of the music/podcast in question.

  7. Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio promises not to release any music under our ownership.

  8. Approval and receipt of work is considered an agreement between the artist(s) and Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio that the work that has taken place is satisfactory and releases Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio of any and all liability/claims regarding such services at the point of release and in the future.

15) Completion of Work
  1. Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio will transfer any completed work via a private WeTransfer link. The link will remain open for 7 days.

  2. Buzzin' Sounds Recording Studio will only use any work created within the premises upon completion and transfer of work with official written confirmation from the owner of the work.

  3. Upon completion of work, the artist(s) have 30 days to receive further copies of work before removal from hard drives.

  4. Any further copies past the initial 30 days will result in additional costs for the recovery of files.

16) Payments

  1. All payments must be made within the agreed-upon time - prior to the completion and delivery of services.

  2. Accepted forms of payment cash and bank transfer. No other methods of payment will be accepted.

17) Hospitality

  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio will offer teas, coffees and bottled water for the artist(s), the guest(s), the team and the staff free of charge.

  2. Refreshments will be available upon entering the premises, until the end of the session time.

  3. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio will make sure all refreshments are in date and areas/utensils around are clean and appropriate for usage.

  4. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not responsible or liable for any health conditions or allergies that are not previously stated.

18) Communal Spaces
  1. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio will make sure all communal spaces (such as the kitchen, bathrooms and hallways) are clean and safe.

  2. The artist(s), guest(s) and any members of the team will treat all communal spaces with the utmost respect.

  3. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is based in Trinity United URC, Cheetham Hill; a building that is used for multiple purposes and other people may be in/around the building.

  4. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not liable for any loss, damage or incidents that may occur with members of the public.

19) Pets
  1. Well-trained and behaved pets are permitted to enter the studio with official written confirmation from Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not liable for any injury or illness to any animal that comes through the doors.

  3. The artist(s) or the individual/business responsible for booking the session is liable and responsible for the safety and wellbeing of any animal that comes through the doors of Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio.

  4. The artist(s) or the individual/business responsible for booking the session is financially responsible for any damage or loss caused by the animal.

  5. Any animal attending must be reported prior to the session taking place. Otherwise, they will not be allowed in.

20) Studio Tour
  1. Should an artist(s) want to tour the studio prior to making a booking, then they are permitted to do so at a date/time that is agreed upon with Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio is not liable or responsible for any individual that takes a tour of the studio.

21) Studio Media
  1. During a session, we may take pictures or videos for usage in promotional material.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio must request permission prior to the session taking place to take pictures or videos.

  3. In some circumstances, we may ask for written consent for proof of approval.

  4. Once captured, any picture or video is the intellectual property of Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio.

22) General Policies

  1. There is NO smoking inside the building at Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio. If you would like to smoke, please use the space to the front.

  2. Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio operates a STRICT no refund policy.

  3. All prices upon invoicing are final and cannot be changed.

23) Payments

  1. We only accept payments via cash or bank transfer.

  2. All prices upon invoicing are FINAL and cannot be changed.

  3. We do not offer exclusive discounts for individuals. Any discounts are publicly available.

  4. All discounts are subject to terms and conditions.

COVID Amendments

COVID specific amendments are based on government guidelines, rules of the landowner. These can and will change as and when guidance and rules allow.

The number & letter indicate the policy that has been amended.

2. Re-arranging/re-scheduling

  • b. 24 hours’ notice is required instead of 72 hours.

  • c. Anything less than 24 hours and the session is considered cancelled.

  • c. If an artist must re-arrange due to a positive COVID test, or symptoms with less than 24 hours’ notice and can provide proof – the session will be re-arranged as normal

 

6. Guests

  • a. A maximum of 1 guest is allowed at any one time.

 

8. Artist Responsibility

  • b. If the artist(s) are displaying any COVID symptoms, Buzzin’ Sounds Recording Studio retains the right to refuse service with no refund.

  • c. The artist(s) take full responsibility for their personal hygiene and COVID protection.

10. Studio Responsibility

  • d. This includes complete wipe downs and disinfecting of all surfaces, seats and equipment between sessions.

 

17. Hospitality

  • a-d. No refreshments will be served.

18. Communal Space

  • a-d. Communal spaces, other than the bathroom are off-limits other than passing through.

19. Pets

  • a-e. Pets are not allowed within the studio space.

20. Studio Tour

  • a-b. Studio Tours are currently prohibited.

COVID Specific Policies

  1. Face Masks are compulsory for all staff and artist(s), except for when in the vocal booth unless stated otherwise.

  2. Hand-sanitiser must be applied by all staff and artist(s) before each session.

  3. Studio Sessions must be pre-booked in advance and cannot be booked on the day.
